Workspace ONE UEM enrolled devices are intermittently getting enterprise wiped when upgraded to iOS 17 (94814)

Symptoms

Once the Workspace ONE UEM enrolled iOS mobile devices are upgraded with iOS 17, the Workspace ONE mobile SDK is auto-detecting these devices as compromised intermittently and performing the enterprise wipe. This process erases all enterprise data from these devices and un-enrols them from the system.

Resolution

The product team is working on fixing this issue. For devices running iOS version lower than iOS 17, the fix is expected to apply automatically and does NOT require SDK/Productivity Apps/UEM upgrade. Tentative ETA to fix the issue is 29th September 2023.

Workaround

Re-enrolling the affected devices should fix the issue for those devices.

As a workaround, admins can disable the ‚Compromise Protection‘ in the SDK profiles on the UEM console. Note that Compromise Protection is a critical security feature and should be re-enabled once the Workspace ONE team provides the fix for this issue.
